A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
I believe that training is a lifestyle. Everyday interactions with your dog should be conscious and intentional. By training your dog early you can prevent unwanted behaviors from becoming habits and instead encourage healthy behaviors guided by clear expectations and communication. While starting young is ideal, an old dog can still learn new tricks! It may be difficult to introduce new boundaries and expectations but it is possible. My job is to help coach and guide you to build the bond between you and your dog by creating a strong communication system and facilitate exercises to build confidence.
My mission is to keep your dog in your home. Training can prevent your dog from the need to be rehomed or surrendered.

Remington
After dealing with some big life changes I noticed my Australian Cattle Dog, Remington, was struggling in the beahvior department. I decided to go back to the basics with him and signed up with Valerie. I couldn't have made a better choice. He has now completed all 3 obedience classes plus a board and train to fine tune some things. He has come so far, we have come so far. I take him everywhere with me now and the bond we have is stronger than ever. Everything we learned we use regularly and will use for the rest of his life, I consider this to be an amazing investment and will continue to use Halo Dog Training in the future.

Piper
When we first got Piper, we started searching for dog training classes. We walked into Pet Supplies Plus and saw the Halo Dog Training sign so we decided to give it a shot. BEST DECISION we have made. We took Piper through all three of Valerie's Classes that she has to offer, Beginner, Intermediate, and advanced. My partner and I are first time dog owners and weren't quite sure what we were doing. Valerie took her time and made sure we knew exactly what we needed to do. There are no dumb questions with Valerie. Another thing we liked was that the class sizes weren't big so gave Valerie plenty of time to work with each of us. This also helped socialize Piper more as at first she was timid, and now she is happy to see everyone. Piper is now 1 years old and still has her puppy issues as we have slipped some on training, but Valerie is very good at what she does. We will be going again if we need a refresher or if we were to get another dog. I recommend taking all three classes, especially if you want to take your dog into a store with you.

Coco and Kona
Valerie at Halo Dog Training has been a tremendous asset. I first met her at Petsmart with my first dog Coco and her beginner classes. Coco was my first dog ever, a pitbull and very misunderstood as she had been returned multiple times to the shelter, did not get along with men and would attack shoes. Little did I know, how a well behaved and loving dog Coco would be. I could not have done it without Valerie and her obedience training. Coco and I followed Valerie as she formed her own business due to the relationship Coco and Valerie had. Coco became one of the first dogs Valerie trained to be an AKC Canine Good Citizen. And when I got Coco a sister, Kona, she completed all levels of obedience with Valerie as well. Love Valerie and her training. My dogs could not agree more.
